So, I promised more details a while back, and here they are.
This is the piece that was chosen for the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center gala. It is called "Dream Home", and I used oil, ink, acrylic, and resin on 12"x12"1.5" gessoboard.
I finished the edges with leather and studs, which I love so much. I'm definitely going to try this again on other pieces.
The other artists included in the show gathered for a nice, sort of fancy-schmancy reception in the Hybl Experimental Space at the center.
That's me, feeling altogether too pleased with myself. This is exactly how I smiled for my fourth grade picture, probably.
This was such a fun event, and I am honored to be a part of the CSFAC's 99th anniversary. This institution has been a mainstay of my world since I was a little kiddo, so this inclusion feels homey and personal to me.
